They have a coarse porous surface with lots of pores, giving them a large surface area, which enables them to hold lots of water. The clay pebbles are hard this means that they don’t compact over time like most other growing medium. Retaining their original structure means that the have lots of air pockets between them providing lots of oxygen for roots. These air pockets also mean that Gold Label Hydrocorn Clay Pebbles drain very freely avoiding waterlogging. Hydrocorn can be easily mixed with grow mediums to improve drainage. A top layer of Gold Label Hydrocorn Clay pebbles can be added to coco coir and soil, this will reduce water evaporation and help control humidity levels.
